Delaware Program

Women's Residential SUD Program

A 10-bed residential Substance Use Disorder program offering adult women a safe, home-like environment for recovery in Dover, Delaware.

The Psychotherapeutic Services, Inc. 10-bed residential SUD program offers a home-like atmosphere where each resident receives compassionate, individualized care from staff who demonstrate heart, warmth, and dedication.

Overview

Residents receive nutritionally balanced meals and snacks, comprehensive ongoing psychosocial assessments, on-site psychiatric evaluation and treatment, and substance abuse assessment and treatment based on the Stages of Change model and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Each woman follows an individually tailored, recovery-oriented, strength-based treatment plan that includes comprehensive medication management, individual and group therapies, substance use education, peer support, family therapy, and skills training — all with 24-hour supervision from caring, awake staff.

After a brief period of assessment and adjustment, the program offers a stepped treatment approach that emphasizes relapse prevention and purposeful community re-integration — with 12-step programs, referrals to outpatient treatment, and community-based resources to support a sober, healthy lifestyle upon discharge. The program also provides educational opportunities and assistance with job placement, family issues, and locating housing.

Population Served

The program serves adult females (over the age of 18) with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis who may also have a co-occurring disorder. Residents preferably live in the proximity of Kent County but may be considered from Sussex and New Castle Counties as well. All admissions and continuing-stay decisions are driven by Delaware-ASAM criteria.
