The Psychotherapeutic Services, Inc. 16-bed residential SUD offers a home-like atmosphere where a resident has her own room, receives nutritionally balanced meals and snacks, comprehensive ongoing psychosocial assessments, on-site psychiatric evaluation and treatment, substance abuse assessment and treatment based on the stages of change model and CBT, an individually tailored recovery oriented strength-based treatment plan, comprehensive medication management, individual and group therapies, substance use education, peer support, family therapy, skills training and 24 hour supervision with caring and awake staff who demonstrate compassion, heart and warmth. After a brief period of assessment and adjustment, the program offers a stepped based treatment approach, that emphasizes relapse prevention and purposeful community re-integration efforts with 12 step programs, referrals to outpatient treatment and community-based resources needed to support a sober healthy lifestyle upon discharge.  Additionally, the SUD program provides educational opportunities, assistance with job placement, family issues, assists with locating housing for when a resident is discharged back into the community and/or referred to other agencies.

The Psychotherapeutic Services, Inc. residential SUD program takes women over the age of 18 with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis that may also be pregnant while in treatment. PSI can accept up to 16 men. These females live in the proximity of Kent County, Sussex County, and New Castle County. All admissions and continuing stay decisions are driven by Delaware-ASAM criteria. They are acute intoxication and/or withdrawal potential; biomedical conditions and complications; emotional, behavioral, or cognitive conditions and complications; readiness to change; relapse, continued use, or continued problem potential; and recovery environment.
