Housing
Georgetown Transitional Housing is a HUD funded,
short-term, 24 hour residential program serving
primarily AOD recovering adults who have found
themselves without a place to live. The goals
of the program are to increase the client’s
capacity for independent community living, assist
clients with developing and implementing strategies
that facilitate recovery.
Services offered: Individual and group supportive
counseling and education are offered to: assist
clients in developing and implementing relapse
prevention strategies; gain an understanding
of possible medical conditions that are directly
related to their substance abuse; provide the
client with information regarding productive
and safe activities in the recovering community;
assist the client in recognizing the difference
between addictive/self defeating behaviors and
a sober lifestyle; encourage clients to attend
NA, AA and other support groups; provide immediate
crisis assessment and referral; provide transportation
to recovery activities; assist clients to self-administer
their medication; provide support in negotiating
community services, including housing and employment
options.
