Psychotherapeutic Services, Inc. operates a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SA-IOP) for Adolescents in Dover (Kent County), Delaware. This is more than a traditional outpatient program. It is designed to achieve short-term stabilization and resolution of immediate problem areas presented by youth abusing substances. The youth and their families are offered services by a multidisciplinary team of professionals. The youth are enrolled in a time limited program with other youth working on similar issues. The goal of the SA-IOP is to assist the youth gain and sustain abstinence, avoid unnecessary hospitalization or incarceration and will titrated into a less intensive level of community based care.
